The Common Tread Evergreen Shoe Green is a classic, fully enclosed barefoot shoe designed for simplicity, comfort, and natural foot development. Created by a South African husband-and-wife team, Common Tread focuses on crafting healthy and practical shoes for growing children. Each pair is meticulously handcrafted using locally sourced materials, including premium super-soft leather from a local tannery in Cape Town.
These shoes feature a crepe rubber sole with a super-wide fit and an ultra-thin, flexible design. The sole is 3mm thin, complemented by a 2mm leather insole, resulting in a total 5mm stack height. This minimalist structure provides an authentic barefoot feel, making them ideal for new and developing walkers.

Common Tread Shoes Size Chart
One of the biggest challenges we face is standardising the sizing structure as sizing varies between brands. For example a UK4 for one brand may be significantly different to a UK4 in another.
To help you we have attempted to standardise this by measuring all our shoes in centimetres (Internal Shoe Measurement (cm)) and then converting into our UK size for familiarity purposes (HLS UK Size). Please note that this will usually vary a little from the manufacturers conversion (Common Tread UK Size) as this is unavoidable as we try to standardise across all brands.
We recommend purchasing shoes which measure around 0.8-1.0cm bigger than the length of the longest foot measurement. For smaller feet and new walkers (EU20-22) we recommend adding a little less around 0.5-0.8cm. Please see the table below detailing the Internal Shoe Measurement (cm) alongside the Foot Length (cm) this size shoe will fit.
Always buy based on the centimetre measurements of the shoe and the foot rather than the EU size, UK size or manufacturer's size.
